Stevie Nicks was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by Harry Styles on Friday (March 29, 2019) but she was left a little embarrassed after mistakenly saying that he was from *NSYNC instead of One Direction.
*NSYNC, One Direction, same thing, right?
The Fleetwood Mac star has become the first female to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice and Harry Styles was on hand to mark the moment with a touching speech about the star, before joining her on stage to perform her 1981 hit Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around.
Backstage, Nicks and Harry Styles embraced and posed for pictures with her award before he gallantly stepped aside and let her have her moment.
“When Harry decided to make a solo record from *NSYNC,” said Nicks, quickly realizing her mistake. “Not *NSYNC, sorry. I’m never gonna live that one down. One Direction,” she continued to laughter in the press room.
“He could have gone one or two ways: he could have made a serious pop record, which would have been less of a risk, or he could have made a rock and roll record and take a risk, and he did.”
