Actress Tara Reid has come forward with alarming allegations that she was drugged while visiting a hotel bar outside Chicago, resulting in her hospitalization early Sunday (November 23, 2025) morning. The American Pie star detailed the harrowing incident during an appearance on TMZ Live on Monday (November 24, 2025), describing a frightening ordeal that left her unconscious for several hours.
According to Reid, the incident occurred after she checked into her hotel room late Saturday night and decided to visit the downstairs bar for a drink. The 50-year-old actress explained that she ordered a beverage and then stepped outside for a cigarette around 10:30 PM. During this time, she encountered a group of YouTubers who were also staying at the hotel, with one accompanying her outside.

However, when Reid returned to the bar, she noticed something suspicious. Her drink had been covered with a napkin that she insists she did not place there herself. Despite this red flag, she removed the napkin and consumed the beverage. The next thing she remembers is waking up in a hospital bed approximately eight hours later.
Video footage obtained by media outlets shows Reid in a wheelchair in the hotel lobby around 12:30 AM Sunday, appearing severely disoriented. Additional footage captures paramedics loading her onto a stretcher just before 1 AM as she was transported to a nearby hospital. Witnesses reported that before emergency responders arrived, Reid was heard shouting about her celebrity status.

Rosemont Police confirmed they responded to a medical call for a “sick person” at the location at 12:39 AM Sunday. The department stated that the subject was transported to a hospital, though no mention of possible drugging was made at the scene. As of Monday, no police report had been filed regarding the alleged incident.
Reid told TMZ that hospital staff informed her she had been drugged, though she characterized their explanation as “vague.” The actress admitted she did not inquire about what specific substance may have been involved. She emphasized that she had consumed only one glass of wine that evening at the bar before losing consciousness.

The actress has been open about her past struggles with substance abuse, having completed a 90-day rehabilitation program in Malibu in 2008. At the time, she credited the treatment with transforming her life. However, Reid firmly maintains that this recent incident was not related to substance abuse but rather the result of her drink being tampered with while she was away from the bar.
Reid stated she is considering filing an official police report to investigate what happened during those lost hours. The incident has raised concerns about drink safety at bars and the vulnerability of patrons when beverages are left unattended, even briefly.
