Hello, hello, hello! We are back with a news-packed update from your favorite queens.
Fur flew on this week’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK as the queens used pet supplies to create from scratch fashions, and Danny Beard spoke with the queen who had to sashay away on his new series.
We also met the fierce frighteners in the upcoming season 5 of Dragula. Speaking of Halloween, the dolls are getting ready for the spooky season, and we’ve got treats from Sugar and Spice, Kahmora Hall, and Jaymes Mansfield.
Get ready to fill your bag with charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent, and let’s bring it to the runway!
Okay, first things first. Mama Ru announced this week that her memoir, The House of Hidden Meanings, is hitting bookshelves in March of next year. In an Instagram post, Ru said, “After two and a half years, it’s finally here. My memoir. I’m so excited and so anxious at the same time, because I really reveal so much of myself. You know, this world today feels so hostile and [is] such a scary place to be vulnerable. But I did it. So get ready.”
The book, Ru’s fourth (after the 1995 autobiography Lettin’ It All Hang Out, 2010’s Workin’ It! and 2018’s GuRu) covers the icon’s life, from growing up poor in a broken home to becoming a beloved international superstar. The book arrives on March 5, and you can pre-order it here.
A new season of Drag Race UK brings us (thankfully) a new season of “Binge Queens.” This season, Kennedy Davenport, Lawrence Chaney, Cheryl Hole and Blu Hydrangea will be taking us through the ups, down, challenges and looks of the season. Get a sneak peek here and subscribe to WOW Presents Plus to see it all.
This week, the UK queens were tasked to make fashions from pet accessories, and we said farewell to our first queen. Season 4 winner Danny Beard discusses the episodes and puts the eliminated queen in the hot seat on “After Shave with Danny Beard.”
After making over Tan Mom and giving us #THEDISH, Adam Barta is back with a spooky new series, just in time for Halloween. Kahmora Hall and the queens of legendary drag club/restaurant Hamburger Mary’s are taking a trip into the afterworld on Seance with the Queens. Adam says, “This will be the first in a series of drag queen seances that are going to rock pop culture! Stay tuned as lives are changed forever by SarahSpiritual!” Watch the trailer and get ready for some thrills and chills.

We all love tricks and treats this time of year, so a visit with season 15 queens Sugar and Spice seems fitting. The pair join Delta Work for a spooky edition of “Very Delta.”
Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, Crystal Methyd, Bianca Del Rio, April Carrion & Alexis Mateo got together to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept 15-Oct 15) and LGBTQ Herstory Month (Oct 1-Oct 31). The queens dive into what their heritage means to them and how they express it through the art of drag, the power of representation, and more.

Meet the Monsters of Boulet Brothers’ Dragula season 5 Featuring 11 drag entertainers from around the world, the season 5 cast includes artists from Argentina, China, and the United Kingdom, as well as seasoned glitzy stars from the realm of American drag. The stunning and scary cast is made up of Anna Phylactic (UK), Blackberri (Houston), Cynthia Doll (Kansas City), Fantasia Royale Gaga (my hometown of Miami), Jarvis Hammer (Atlanta), Jay Kay (Brooklyn), Niohuru X (China), Orkgotik (Argentina), Onyx Ondyx (Philadelphia), Satanna (Los Angeles) and Throb Zombie (Boston).
In a statement (via Entertainment Weekly), Dracmorda Boulet said, “With season 5, we are beginning a new and innovative new chapter of the show, and we've retooled and updated the format in an incredibly exciting way.” Swanthula added: “We're going back to basics with the format, and focusing on the competition element of the show, the incredible artists that we've cast and the out-of-this-world looks they create each week, and, of course, drag artists doing insanely terrifying and shocking physical challenges on TV. This is the best-looking season of the show yet, and I can't wait for fans to see these new competitors.” The Boulet Brothers' Dragula season 5 premieres Tuesday, Oct. 31 on AMC+ and Shudder.
Speaking of spooky queens, there’s no more iconic witchy trip than the Sanderson sisters of Hocus Pocus. Drag Race alums Tina Burner, Alexis Michelle, and Scarlet are paying tribute to these legendary characters on their international Witch Perfect Tour on September 28 in Norwalk, Connecticut. The tour will run through October 30 with a final stop in Cardiff, United Kingdom. The Witch Perfect Tour is described as a “cabaret parody of the Disney Halloween classic Hocus Pocus.” To celebrate this tour, the trio released a brand-new original song, “Mother,” and a distinctly Drag Race-inspired music video. Bette, Kathy and Sarah would be proud.
Jaymes Mansfield is back with more Halloween costume ideas for you. This time, she transforms a Chucky wig from Spirit Halloween into a gorgeous goth creation.
Laganja Estranja is back with a new vlog. This time around, she’s in my home town of Atlanta performing with Peaches.
Miss the 90s? The new Spice World inspired for the new streaming series AVALON TV will have you craving platform sneakers and Union Jack dresses. Premiering October 9 exclusively on WOW Presents Plus, AVALON TV will take viewers inside LA’s hottest creative collective, The House of Avalon and features season 13 winner Symone and season 12 fan favorite Gigi Goode. Part talk show, part sketch comedy, part follow-style documentary, AVALON TV brings you along for the ride to Symone’s first Met Gala, follows Gigi through her transition, features exclusive interviews on a Symone-hosted talk show with guests including Abby Lee Miller and Orville Peck and so much more.
And that’s a wrap on another week of news from the Drag Race universe. Until we meet again, stay safe, stay healthy, support the queens and say LOVE!
