It has really been a busy week for our RuPaul’s Drag Race queens! The UK dolls knocked their first “Snatch Game” out of the park and a lot of Drag Race alums and podcasters had lots to say about it (and we did too! Check out our list of the most sickening moments from the episode.) Stateside, our queens brought us more Halloween treats and more hilarious videos. Let’s get into the latest updates!
The hilarious Nicole Byer joined Mano for this week’s episode of “Drag Her” and had Willam as her guest for the 100th episode of her podcast “Why Won’t You Date Me?” Willam shares a lot on the episode, and, if you haven’t ever listened, this is a perfect episode to introduce you to this raunchy, honest and hilarious show. It is truly a dream and a treat. Of course, Willam and Alaska recapped the “Snatch Game” and gave us our weekly helping of “Hot Goss” over at Forever Dog.
Raja and Raven talk about this week’s “Weird Science” runway (and Raja has lots to say about Blu’s look) on the latest “Fashion Photo Ruview”.
Speaking of…the newly engaged Blu Hydrangea (Congrats, Blu!) shows you how she created that positively eye-catching runway look on “Blu's Beats.”
Miz Cracker, fashionably behind, discusses last week’s “Posh on a Penny” challenge on her web series, “High Tea.”
Since we are about to be inundated with Christmas decorations and music, I wanted to bid a fond farewell to my favorite holiday, Halloween, with a few final posts from our creepy and kooky queens.
Season three champion Raja was the guest on a Halloween-themed episode of “Hey Qween!” The always fierce queen (with a look I am “tooting”) talks about the holiday and plays games, including “Kiki, Kai Kai or Kill” and “Trick or Beat” with Jonny and Lady Red. Part one is linked below, and make sure to check out parts two and three.
Phi Phi O’Hara brings it every October, posting a different (amazing) cosplay every day on Instagram and Twitter. This year, the theme was “31 Days of Wizardry”, and each day, we were treated to Phi Phi serving eerily accurate recreations of the characters from Harry Potter. These are truly amazing.
While Halloween has come and gone, it’s never too early to get some ideas for next year. I got bamboozled by some wigs that looked way different on the packages than they did IRL, so next time, I am going to consult with Jaymes Mansfield for ways to make cheap hair look like a million bucks. She worked her magic on a Disney Ariel (not Versace) wig and last week, Trixie Mattel joined her to make over some store-bought Elvira wigs.
If you don’t want to gamble the bucks on a wig from your local Party City, why not make your own? As Yvie Oddly shows us, it’s easy and inexpensive. On this episode of “Yvie’s Odd School”, our reigning champ shows you how to construct a fun, curly wig from paper.
Before Elvira, there was Vampira, and Violet Chachki is a big fan. Discover how to get that gothic glam look in this makeup tutorial.
Lastly, if you want to create a magical makeup look on a budget, Ariel Versace is here for you. On the latest episode of “Wet n’ Wild Presents”, Ariel shares tips on how to uncover your inner “evil mermaid” using makeup and a fishnet stocking.
And now, here comes Christmas, and Nina West has something special for your stocking. Nina is releasing a Christmas EP called The West Christmas Ever. According to a release, the new EP features original songs (including one called “Cha Cha Heels”, paying tribute to Divine in Female Trouble – I hope) and interludes narrated by Father Christmas, voiced by Jim Cummings, the voice of Disney’s Winnie the Pooh. The EP will be released on November 8 and is available for pre-order now at www.NinaWest.com. Everyone who preorders gets a 50% off code for a special Christmas message from Nina on Cameo. Portions of the presale proceeds will go to the Nina West Foundation which supports LGBTQIA programs nationwide.
Ru’s best Judy, Michelle Visage, is burning up the dance floor on the UK’s Strictly Come Dancing. On the show’s Halloween episode, she and her partner, Giovanni Pernice donned their finest Gomez and Morticia garb and executed a flawless fox trot to the theme from “The Addams Family.”
Michelle also sat down with DRUK “Snatch Game” contestant Lorraine Kelly this week to discuss how dancing has helped her heal from her recent medical issues that stemmed from her breast implants.
I got so bogged down in work that I missed all of season three of Dragula, but a winner has been crowned. I offer heartfelt, spoiler-free congratulations to the winner. Click here to find out who won.
I don’t know about you, but I think it’s impossible to have a bad day when Tammie Brown is around. One of our favorite eccentric queens released a mini-movie titled “Poolside Merengue” featuring the amazing Love Connie. These six minutes will definitely brighten your day.
Willam is here to help you get ready for winter with his CoverBoy cosmetics.
Adore Delano, who is no stranger to reality TV (not only Drag Race, but American Idol too) is set to appear on the winter spinoff of MTV’s Ex on the Beach, calledPeak of Love. Adore will be sharing a home in Queensland, New Zealand, looking for love among fellow reality show stars. The series debuts on December 5.
Trixie Mattel talks about her “Grown Up” tour and lots more with Entertainment Tonight.
Jinkx Monsoon takes us for another fun-filled ride with the second part of her series on driving on the latest “Cool Mom.”
That’s all for this week! Have a fierce and fabulous first week of November and, until we meet again, everybody say LOVE!
