Alexis Mateo Hey Queen

Get the latest on the season 11 queens as well as some of our favorite Drag Race alums, including Alaska and Alexis Mateo!

This week’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race brought us a fierce and spooky parade of looks at the Monster Ball. Check out our recap for all of the thrills, chills and lewks!

Over in podcastland, Nicole Byer makes a welcome return to “What the Tuck?” and the fabulous Gia Gunn fills in for Willam on this week's “Race Chaser.”

Last week’s eliminated queen, Mercedes Iman Diamond, spoke with MTV following her elimination and, when talking about leaving the show with a smile on her face, said, “Mother Ru picked me out of thousands of girls, I don’t want her to see me with a sad face. I want her to know how proud and how grateful I am for this opportunity.” She's so charming and I miss her already.

As part of her “sashay away” press tour, Mercedes also sat down with Michelle Visage to show off the fashions we didn't get to see on the runway on “Whatcha' Packin'?” She also talks about moving to Minneapolis from Kenya at the tender age of 10 and further details being put on the “no fly list”. If you're a fan of Mama Oppalence, you don't want to miss this.

Raja and Aquaria toot and boot last week's “Orange Alert” runway looks on “Fashion Photo Ruview.” Kimora Blac joins Manila Luzon to talk “Trump: The Rusical” on “The Pit Stop.”

I made mention of Cardi B‘s attempts to trademark “Okurr” in last week's recap, and Alaska has something to say about the whole situation. In an interview with Gay Star News, she says, “I think it’s a bunch of hot steaming bullshit.” She adds, “I’m not saying I know where it comes from. But I know that she didn’t invent it. And people often say to me, you should’ve trademarked ‘hiiiieeeeee.’ And I’m like, no, I stole it. That’s the point. That’s language, drag lexicon. It belongs to everybody.”

One of our favorite pageant queens (and Drag Mom to this season's Vanessa Vanjie Mateo), Alexis Mateo (BAM!) is this week's guest on “Hey Qween!” Alexis, who was on season 3 of Drag Race (as well as the better-forgotten first season of All-Stars), hails from my home state of Florida and has proven that she needs to be on TV lots more. If you ever wanted to know more about the pageant scene, Alexis is an expert and spills some interesting tea, especially about the infamous “sugar daddy” feud between Shangela and Mimi Imfurst.

On this week's episode of Trixie Mattel and Katya‘s hilarious series, ‘UNHhhh,' the queens take us to the food court and talk Orange Julius, Cinnabon and Sbarro. Don't watch this one hungry! Check out a sneak peek here and check out the full episode on World of Wonder Presents Plus.

Aquaria, Asia O’Hara, Detox, Kameron Michaels, Kim Chi, Monét X Change, Naomi Smalls and Violet Chachki are among the queens embarking on the Werq the World tour. The shows, hosted by Michelle Visage, promise “a dynamic display of the wonders held by each planet and its regal sovereign.” You can find out when the queens are coming to your town on the Werq the World website.

Lastly, remember last week when I shared a video of New York drag queen and activist Marti Gould Cummings entertaining a young fan with a lip sync rendition of the child's earworm “Baby Shark” at a drag brunch? Well, Marti has enlisted some friends and made a full video for the tune. It's a cute video, but it does come with a warning: this song will get in your head and never get out. Check it out and we'll see you next week!
