Hello, hello, hello and welcome to another edition of the Week in Drag, bringing you music, fashion and fun from the queens of the Drag Race universe.
This week, we’ve got commentary from the queens on the acting challenge and pocket runway fashions from last week’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race. We also bid a fond farewell to the season’s “polite queen” and get to know more about the queens from down under. We also have new music from the UK, Canada and lots, lots more. Let’s waste no more time and let’s bring it to the runway!
If you long for a life with non-stop Drag Race episodes, get prepared to be happy. RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under will be sashaying to screens in the US and select territories worldwide exclusively on WOW Presents Plus on Saturday May 1st. The eight-part series will be hosted by RuPaul with Michelle Visage and Australian comedian Rhys Nicholson on the judging panel alongside a slew of celebrity guests to be announced soon. The 10 fierce Aussie and Kiwi queens competing to be Australia’s first-ever Drag Race Superstar include: Anita Wigl’it, Art Simone, Coco Jumbo, Elektra Shock, Etcetera Etcetera, JoJo Zaho, Karen from Finance, Kita Mean, Maxi Shield and Scarlet Adams. Before the premiere, get to know more about these fierce queens!
Last week on RuPaul’s Drag Race, the queens hit the set for the filming of the soon-to-be sci-fi classic, “Henny, I Shrunk the Drag Queens.” Later, the queens showcased their favorite “Haute Pocket” looks on the runway. Trixie Mattel and Gigi Goode look back at the acting challenge and runway looks on the latest episode of “The Pit Stop.”
If you want to relive last week’s giant cat paws, hammy overacting and fun runway looks, there’s really no better person to take the journey with then Nina West. Join her for the laughs on the latest “Extra Lap Recap.”
If mistakes and missteps were made last week, you know that Bob the Drag Queen and Monét X Change are here to talk about them. Get their always unfiltered and hilarious take on the episode on “Sibling Watchery.”
I thought I was a Gottmik stan until I watched the latest episode of “Fashion Photo Ruview.” I had the same reaction to Mik’s timeless pocket look on the runway and I did agree with her and Raven’s “toots” and “boots” on this week’s runway. Side note: Raven’s yellow and blue eye makeup is absolutely everything.
Yuhua Hamasaki and Angele Anang, winner of season 2 of Drag Race Thailand, review the “Haute Pocket” runway looks as only they know how on the latest ‘Bootleg Opinions.”
Since we had to turn the top five into the final four this week, we had to say goodbye to fan-favorite Olivia Lux. Michelle Visage chatted with the queen with the most iconic tiny purse since Lizzo about her experience on the show on “What’cha Packin’?”
Our eliminated queen brought some stunning looks to the runway and, in this tutorial, she shows us how she created her mad scientist look from the “Beast” runway.
Last season’s ninth eliminated queen, the fabulous Jackie Cox, sends a message of hope to her season 13 sister on “Losing is the New Winning.”
Trixie Mattel and TikTokker Sarah Schauer take a break from makeup application and indulge in a little self-care. Watch as they facial steaming, face masks, hair masks, manicures and more.
She had to leave Drag Race UK season 2 early, but we all know that Veronica Green is a star, and the video for her new Broadway-inspired ballad “Stars” proves just that.
Want more music? Check out the latest from Canada’s Drag Race season 1 champion, Priyanka. Fresh from her appearance on Brooke Lynn Hytes’ “Queen of the North”, she serves up a delicious cover of Harry Styles’ “Watermelon Sugar.”
Our favorite unboxing queen, Willam, is back showing off another haul and paying tribute to Joe Exotic. In “Unboxing at Trash Mountain,” she introduces us to some of her favorite things, including comfy socks, cheeky jewelry, candles and some boss makeup organizers.
It’s four, four, four wigs in one! Jaymes Mansfield takes the ultimate test of her wig mastery and transforms four truly tragic dollar store wigs into a magical creation.
I am by no means a gamer, but I love Nicky Doll and Rock M. Sakura. On the latest “Geek Chic” they turn their attention once again the virtual looks of the game Guilty Gear.
And that brings us to the end of this week’s recap of all things drag. Since the queens are such an inspiration for so any, I thought I would sing-off with the latest from Manila Luzon. Check out “Inspire Me” (featuring) Alaska and, until we meet again, stay healthy, stay safe and say LOVE!
