This is how we reported Whitney Houston's death on February 11, 2012.
Singer Whitney Houston has died, the Associated Press is reporting, citing her publicist. No cause of death has been revealed. A winner of six Grammys, Houston sold over 200 million albums worldwide.
TMZ is reporting that she died at the Beverly Hilton hotel. A member of Whitney’s entourage found her in her room and called hotel security (why don’t people just call 911?), who then dialed 911. When paramedics arrived Houston was found unresponsive.
We’re told police arrived at the scene within minutes and fire was already there on an unrelated call. According to our sources, paramedics performed CPR but it did not work and she was pronounced dead at 3:55 PM.
The singer was last seen this past Thursday night looking worse for wear as she was seen leaving Tru Nightclub in Hollywood.
In recent years, she struggled with drug abuse. She is survived by daughter Bobbi Kristina and ex-husband Bobby Brown.
Our condolences go out to her family and friends.
