According to several reports, Zac Efron had a brief hospital stay in Spain recently due to what his team is calling a “minor swimming incident.”
TMZ first broke the news that Efron was rushed to a hospital in Ibiza on Friday evening after two staff members found him in distress in a villa’s pool. The exact cause of Efron’s trouble remains unclear, but his representatives told People that he’s doing “fine” and left the hospital the next day. They added that Efron’s hospital visit was just a precaution.
The High School Musical heartthrob seemed to be enjoying a European getaway following his promotional tour for the Netflix film A Family Affair, which also stars Nicole Kidman and Joey King.
Efron was seen at Ushuaïa Ibiza Hotel and Beach Club, where a club-goer’s video captured him walking on stage and dancing during DJ Martin Garrix‘s set, drawing cheers from the crowd.
Before his Ibiza trip, Efron attended the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony and watched Simone Biles and Team USA gymnastics clinch gold on July 30. Efron shared a Team USA photo on his Instagram story, tagging Biles and expressing how “proud” he was of her. He also posed by the Seine in Paris during the rainy opening event.
As of now, Zac Efron hasn’t directly addressed his hospital visit.
