Who says married couples have to share a bedroom? Well, not Cameron Diaz! The 51-year-old actress recently spilled the beans on Molly Sims and Emese Gormley‘s Lipstick on the Rim podcast, revealing her unconventional take on married life.

In her refreshingly honest interview, Diaz suggested that it should be “normalized” for couples to not only have separate bedrooms but even separate houses! She humorously proposed the idea of having her own space while her husband has his, with a cozy family house in between. Talk about personal space, right?

But don't worry, folks! She did clarify that this was her viewpoint before she got hitched to the amazing Benji Madden, lead guitarist of Good Charlotte. Diaz couldn't help but praise her rockstar hubby and how he changed her perspective on marriage. Ah, love! ❤️

Diaz sweetly confessed that “no one compares” to her rocker husband.

“Everything else just washes and slips away,” she told Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM show that year. “You realize, ‘Oh, right, this is what the real thing is. This is what real love is. This is what real commitment and devotion is. This is the person you build your life with.’ … And I know that this is special.”

Now, don't go sharing this with your spouse just yet! Diaz had a good laugh with the podcast hosts when they suggested she might have overshared. But hey, the cat's out of the bag, and she stands by her unconventional thoughts.

For Diaz, the secret to a happy marriage is all about finding the right balance. And who are we to argue with that? After all, she and Madden welcomed their adorable daughter, Raddix, into the world in 2020.

While Diaz has taken a step back from acting in recent years, she couldn't help but gush about how her marriage to Madden has transformed her. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, she described it as the biggest thing she's done in her 40s, opening up new dimensions in her life.
