Kelly Clarkson‘s ex, Brandon Blackstock, had the audacity to tell her she wasn’t “sexy” enough for The Voice! Can you believe it? She spilled the tea in court documents, revealing that she had been expressing her desire to be a coach on the show for years, but Brandon had the nerve to say the network was looking for a more “sex symbol” type. To make matters worse, he even compared her to Rihanna, saying they wanted someone “sexy” like her instead of Kelly. Talk about a low blow!
But here’s the kicker: despite his comments, Kelly still landed a coaching gig on The Voice back in 2018. Take that, Brandon!
And it doesn’t stop there. Kelly also claimed that Brandon said NBC “had to have someone that was black” and that she was “too similar” to another one of his clients, Blake Shelton, who was already a coach on the show. Seriously, who says stuff like that?
Now, I don’t want to get too deep into the legal mumbo jumbo, but Kelly ended up winning a hefty settlement of $2.6 million because Brandon had been meddling in her business affairs. He had apparently been cutting deals behind her back and taking a bigger cut than he should have.

To top it all off, Brandon supposedly threatened NBC with Kelly joining American Idol if they didn’t sign her for The Voice. Yeah, you read that right. He tried to play some sneaky games, but luckily it didn’t work out in his favor.
Look, I don’t know about you, but it’s clear that Brandon doesn’t come across as the most trustworthy guy. The California labor commissioner saw right through him and ruled in Kelly’s favor. They even said he overcharged her by over $2 million. Ouch.
Now, I don’t want to stir the pot, but it’s safe to say that this divorce was anything but smooth sailing. They had a messy custody battle and fought over their Montana ranch. But in the end, Kelly came out on top, as she should.
As for Brandon, well, he hasn’t said a word publicly about Kelly’s claims. Can’t say I’m surprised. But hey, actions speak louder than words, right?
