You're not alone if you've experienced the seemingly endless wait for a concert headliner to take the stage. It's one thing to be fashionably late but another to keep the crowd waiting for hours on end. Earlier in the year, Madonna received a class-action lawsuit after two fans took legal action, citing false advertising and negligent misrepresentation due to her “Celebration” concert at Barclays Center starting over two hours behind schedule.

But the Queen of Pop isn't having any of it. On April 4, according to Billboard, Madonna clapped back through a formal response from her legal team. Apparently, she's arguing that a late-night work hangover isn't her problem legally. Her lawyers were quite blunt in asserting that the stress of snagging a 1 am ride home doesn't amount to a legitimate complaint against the music icon.

And that's not all—Madonna's defense dug into the plaintiff's social media updates, where they seemingly had high praise for the show they're suing over. Madonna's counsel didn't mince words, effectively saying the fan got his money's worth since he felt the performance lived up to, if not surpassed, his anticipation.

Further dismantling the exact timing fuss, Team Madonna suggests that no concertgoer—especially a Madonna disciple—should anticipate a prompt 8:30 PM showtime for a star-studded arena event. Whatever the case, it looks like Madonna won't be bowing down to the tick-tock of the clock when it comes to her curtain call.
