While neither confirming nor denying his involvement in a reported physical confrontation on Friday, December 13, 2024, Jamie Foxx has responded to the circulating reports through a new social media update.

On Saturday, December 14, the Oscar-winning performer shared a message on Instagram, stating, “The devil is busy… but I’m too blessed to be stressed.” This post emerged hours after reports surfaced about Foxx’s involvement in an altercation at Mr. Chow’s restaurant in Beverly Hills during his 57th birthday celebration.

What set things off was a phallic laser pointer used by members of the Jackass franchise’s production company. Jamie got upset during the night out at Mr. Chow’s in Bev Hills when someone from a private party in the upstairs VIP area pointed a laser at his table, projecting the image of a penis.

Jamie was pissed off because his kids were at the table, and he felt the image was disturbing, so he walked upstairs to the VIP room and asked the folks up there to cut it out, making it clear he didn’t find their joke funny.

According to TMZ, the situation escalated when Foxx requested nearby diners to lower their voices and refrain from using vulgar language, citing the presence of his family members. The situation reportedly took a violent turn when someone from the other table allegedly threw a glass that struck Foxx in the mouth, requiring medical attention and stitches.

In his Instagram response, Foxx maintained an optimistic tone, shifting the focus to his latest Netflix comedy special, ‘What Had Happened Was.’ “The devil is a lie. Can’t win here… thank you to everybody that pray and check on me… when your light is shining bright… they try to bring you darkness … but they don’t know that you’re built for it…” he wrote. “The lights have been shining bright… and huge thank yous to everyone that have watched and been inspired by ‘What Had Happened Was’ … number 1 on @netflix if you haven’t checked it out please go check it out it’s from my heart and my soul…”

Law enforcement responded to a call about the alleged fight at Mr. Chow’s around 10 p.m. on Friday. Sources speaking to TMZ indicated that Foxx had departed before police arrived, though the “They Cloned Tyrone” actor’s name was noted for follow-up contact by authorities. This incident comes shortly after the premiere of “What Had Happened Was,” where Foxx revealed his experience with a serious brain bleed that resulted in a stroke in early 2023.
