Rapp was one of the first people to accuse the disgraced actor of sexual misconduct back in 2017 when he claimed Spacey made unwanted sexual advances toward him in 1986 when he was just 14. Rapp has now filed a civil lawsuit against Spacey.
Rapp alleges Spacey, without consent, made an unwanted sexual advance and grabbed his buttocks, lifted him onto a bed and laid on his body.
According to the docs Rapp claims he got scared and ran into the bathroom, and although Spacey tried to persuade him to stay … he left. Rapp says he suffered psychological injuries, severe emotional distress, humiliation, fright, anger, depression and anxiety.
There is a second plaintiff in the lawsuit, who was also 14 at the time, but they have remained anonymous.
The civil lawsuit was filed in New York State court in Manhattan. Amid the #MeToo movement against sexual harassment by powerful people, Rapp in an October 2017 interview with BuzzFeed accused Spacey of sexual misconduct over the same 1986 incident, saying Spacey had tried to seduce him.
Spacey, who has largely retreated from public life after starring in films such as American Beauty and The Usual Suspects, could not immediately be reached for comment on Wednesday.
The actor in 2017 said he did not remember the encounter Rapp described but added, “If I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior.”
