Season 5 of the anthology series, Black Mirror, will consist of three all-new stories from Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones.
Once again, technology is front and center driving the stories in these three pieces, both distracting and tempting the protagonists.
In addition to continuing to comment on the state of social media, this season promises to also dive deeper into the state of artificial intelligence, smart technology and virtual reality.[irp posts=4362]
Notably, Cyrus appears to be taking part in a meta storyline, as she portrays a performer with with thousands of fans who appears to have undergone a transformation in order to rise to a higher level of fame.
The fast-paced trailer flits between characters, from a dissatisfied husband who reaches out to a Tinder-esque dating app, to a robot doll and a lonely teen.
We then get glimpse at a Network style breakdown from a man who seems to have just had it with mobile phones.
The first still from the fifth season was released earlier today, showing Anthony Mackie and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in a tense face-off.
Speaking about the mysterious photo, the show’s creator Charlie Brooker said: “It’s the Marvel-DC crossover no one saw coming.”
