Blake Lively and Armie Hammer had an on-screen romance during Season 2 of Gossip Girl. What went on off-screen between the two was much more interesting than what happened on-screen between the two.
In an interview with Andy Cohen and Chelsea Handler back in 2017 that has recently resurfaced in light of Hammer's abuse allegations, Hammer claimed that he was forced to exit the show earlier than anticipated because he was allegedly booted off by someone from the cast.
Hammer appeared in the Gossip Girl‘s second season as Gabriel Edwards, a con-artist whose relationship with Serena van der Woodsen (played by Lively) was purely a means to an end when it came to trick her family out of money.
And while Gossip Girl fans saw Gabriel leave the show having made amends with Serena, what we didn't know was that Hammer himself seemingly left the set on rather bad terms.
Appearing on Andy Cohen's After Show back in 2017, Hammer was questioned on which cast member was the “biggest diva” on Gossip Girl. Clearly uncomfortable by the question, Hammer admits that he wishes he could avoid answering, saying: “I wish I could take all my passes back and use them all right now.”
Let me just say that was a tough show to film and I didn't end up actually filming all the episodes I was supposed to because it was so tough,” he taunted viewers, despite his supposed discomfort moments before.
“Oh really? So you were like, ‘Get me out of this?'” Cohen pressed. “It was also like ‘Get him out of here'”, Hammer retorted, leaving us to assume that he had become a problem on-set throughout filming.
After revealing that his love interest on the show was Blake Lively, Chelsea Handler added: “It sounds like she was the problem.”
“No, no, that's not what I'm saying,” Hammer replied, sporting a sly smirk that has left the internet concluding that that was indeed what he was trying to say.

The gossip based Instagram account, Deux Moi, claims to have learned that it was Lively who got Hammer kicked off the show.
An anonymous source told the site that Hammer allegedly called Lively an “insufferable bitch” at a dinner scene in front of other members of the cast and crew. This was the incident that supposedly led to Hammer’s ousting from the show.
