Chrissy Teigen has revealed she’s been sober for four weeks.
The 35-year-old shared the news after posting a video on Instagram, in which she danced jauntily in a swimsuit.
Commenting on the video, someone said: “I need whatever drugs you’re on!”
Teigen took this opportunity to reveal that she in fact isn’t on any drugs, replying: “Four weeks sober,” followed by prayer emojis and love hearts.
The 35-year-old has opened up on how much of an impact Holly Whitaker‘s self-help book Quit Like a Woman: The Radical Choice to Not Drink in a Culture Obsessed with Alcohol had on her decision.
She wrote on her Instagram Story: “One month ago, on my birthday, I got this book from my doctor and friend.”
“I was done with making an ass of myself in front of people (I’m still embarrassed), tired of day drinking and feeling like shit by 6, not being able to sleep.”
She added: “I have been sober ever since and even if you can’t see yourself doing it or just plain don’t want to, it is still an incredible read.”
Author Holly reported the message on her own account, and thanked Chrissy for her kind words.
She said: “thank you a thousand times over for sharing your humanity and multitudes, always… infinite gratitude for you sharing my work. With you, with you, with you. (sic)”
