Highlights
- Connor Storrie debuted a dramatic buzzcut in Toronto on August 23, shocking longtime fans of his curls.
- He’d hinted at the chop for months, telling Teen Vogue in December he was “ready to shave my head.”
- Fans are now debating whether his character Ilya Rozanov will lose the curls too in Season 2.
Connor Storrie‘s curls are dead. Long live the buzzcut.
The Heated Rivalry heartthrob showed up in Toronto on August 23, mid-meal with co-star Christina Chang, sporting a haircut so severe it sent the internet into a full five-stages-of-grief spiral. “Just saw his buzz cut and I am actually UNWELL. CONNOR STORRIE WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME…” one fan posted.
Another mourner went full Shakespeare: the haircut “was like clipping an angel’s wings.”
Dramatic? Sure. But Storrie warned us.

Back in December, promoting Season 1, he practically begged someone to do this to him. “I’m ready to cut this stuff off if y’all want me to be completely honest,” he said in a Teen Vogue clip. “I’m ready to shave my head. I don’t know who’s out there, but someone hire me and give me a crazy haircut.”
He even name-checked his old routine as basically nonexistent. “It’s called become a star and get a team, a stylist, a groomer, hair, makeup, all the brands. Then you’ll perfect just like me,” he joked, admitting the “secret” was just air-drying.
By January, in a Vogue “Get Ready With Me” segment, he was still teasing it. “Just wait until we do something, and until we cut it all off,” Storrie said while his groomer Kerrie Urban worked on his hair. “I want to.”
Now Season 2 of the gay hockey soap is filming, and Ilya Rozanov’s curls — arguably a supporting character in their own right — are nowhere to be found. Fans have already crowned him “Buzznor,” and the panic over his on-screen alter ego is real. “Genuinely confused how they plan to tell Ilya’s story in season 2 with Connor’s hair looking like this,” one fan posted.

Relax, people. Wigs exist. Hair grows back. And honestly? He called his shot months ago.
