French luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton is set to debut a $961 face shield to help protect against coronavirus on October 30, 2020.
The LV Shield includes an “elasticated, monogrammed strap” that goes around the user’s head and golden studs that are engraved with the luxury brand’s logo.
The visor also transitions from clear to dark depending on sunlight conditions and can be flipped upwards to be worn as a peaked cap.
Just a tip, you can get a face shield for a few dollars each from many other places. And yes, a super cheap face shield would probably protect you just as well from floaty bits of coronavirus as this fancy one.
Although the CDC states, “A face shield is primarily used for eye protection for the person wearing it. At this time, it is not known what level of protection a face shield provides to people nearby from the spray of respiratory droplets from the wearer. There is currently not enough evidence to support the effectiveness of face shields for source control.”
