Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, the most followed person on social media with a staggering 917 million followers across various platforms, is stepping into the YouTube world with his own channel.
Launching on Wednesday, the channel named “UR” will showcase the 39-year-old Portuguese icon discussing his primary passion – soccer. But that's not all. Ronaldo, who currently leads both Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia and the Portuguese national team, will also share insights into his other interests. These include family life, wellness routines, nutrition habits, preparation methods, recovery techniques, educational pursuits, and business ventures. The channel will also feature Ronaldo in conversation with various guests.
“I am very happy to make this project come to life,” said Ronaldo. “It has been in my mind for a long time but finally we have the opportunity to make it real. I have always enjoyed having such a strong relationship with fans on social media and my YouTube channel will give me an even bigger platform to do so and they will learn more about me, my family, and my views on many different subjects. I am also looking forward to sharing conversations with guests that will no doubt surprise people!”
Ronaldo's career spans over two decades with top clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus. His trophy cabinet boasts 33 major honors, including five UEFA Champions League titles and five Ballon d'Or awards. He also holds three UEFA Men's Player of the Year Awards, a record in itself. Ronaldo currently tops the charts for most appearances, goals, and assists in both the Champions League and European Championship. He's also the all-time leading scorer in international soccer, with over 890 official senior career goals for club and country combined.
While Ronaldo dominates social media, he's not yet the king of YouTube. That title belongs to MrBeast, who boasts 311 million subscribers. However, Ronaldo's YouTube journey has started with a bang. Within just 1 hour and 29 minutes of launch, his channel hit 1 million subscribers, setting a new record. Two days later, UR had amassed over 30 million subscribers, with one video surpassing 10 million views. These milestones add to Ronaldo's already impressive list of records.
The competition between Ronaldo and MrBeast has already caught attention, with one YouTuber creating a live update video comparing their subscriber counts.
Ronaldo's first YouTube video is now available on his channel. Check it out below to see what the soccer icon has in store for his fans in this new digital venture.
