Toddler in Chief, Donald Trump, has announced Friday (Jan. 08, 2021) that he will not attend President-elect Joe Biden‘s inauguration later this month.

Remaining on brand, Donald Trump tweeted, “To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th.”

With his decision, Trump is poised to become the first U.S. president in recent political memory to not appear for his successor’s swearing-in ceremony — one of the nation’s most prominent public displays of its commitment to a peaceful transfer of power.

Vice President Mike Pence is expected to attend the inauguration. Former President George W. Bush, the most recent Republican president, also plans to attend.
