It took less than 10 days for a photo of an egg to knock reality television star Kylie Jenner off her Instagram mantle.
This world-record-setting egg, which had accumulated more the 23 million likes and more than 950,000 comments on Instagram by Sunday night, is simply an egg set in front of a white background.
So, what made this egg break the world record on Instagram?
Considering the photo resembles a stock photo of an egg, the answer appears to derive from the caption: “Let’s set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram. Beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)! We got this.”
Kylie Jenner took things to the next level by posting an Instagram video of herself cracking an egg and attempting to fry it on the hot pavement.
“Take that little egg,” she labeled the video. The video currently has 19 million views and counting. Is she going next-level? We’re not sure, but the Kylie Jenner vs. egg rivalry is officially on.
