Gigi Hadid was reportedly arrested on July 10, 2023, with weed and paraphernalia in the Cayman Islands, according to Cayman Marl Road.

According to reports, Hadid flew by private plane to the Caymans. Their luggage was searched at the airport, where Cayman Marl Road reports “ganja and utensils used for the consumption of ganja” were discovered.

Though the amount of weed was apparently “relatively small and…seemingly for personal consumption,” both Gigi and her friend were arrested on suspicion of “Importation of Ganja and Importation of Utensils used for the consumption of ganja.”

Both women were reportedly transported to a Prisoner Detention Center before being released on bail, pending a decision from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. On July 12, according to the Cayman Marl Road, Hadid and her friend appeared in summary court, where they were charged. The women pleaded guilty and were each fined $1,000, though their records will remain clear.

Hadid’s rep told E! News that the marijuana was purchased with a medical license in New York and that medical marijuana is also legal in the Cayman Islands.

Hadid broke her silence about the trip. “All’s well that ends well 🌅,” she captioned a Tuesday, July 18, Instagram carousel of photos and videos from the getaway.
