James Kennedy reportedly “caused a scene” at Kathy Hilton‘s holiday party on Tuesday night, hours before he was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence.
An insider told Us Weekly that the Vanderpump Rules star caught everyone's attention at the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills celebrity gathering with his unusual conduct.
“His guy friend was chasing him from Kathy's basement all the way throughout Kathy's backyard, and James looked mad while running away,” the insider said.
“The guy who was chasing him almost fell into the pool and dropped a lantern in the pool causing a huge scene. Everyone was wondering what was going on.”

The insider mentioned to the publication that Kennedy seemed off during the red carpet moment and darted inside the celebration instead of speaking to media.
Nick Viall, another guest at Hilton's gathering with his spouse Natalie Joy, shared his observations of Kennedy during Thursday's episode of his Viall Files podcast.
The former Bachelor star mentioned seeing Kennedy being demanding with one of his companions earlier that evening.
“Let's say his friend's name is Sam. And [James] goes, ‘Sam! Hold this! Now.' … And his friend just grabbed the drink and James kept walking and I was like … ‘That was insane,'” Viall said.
“I'm the only one who saw this. Natalie didn't even see this. … I was like, 10 minutes earlier I met this guy who he introduced as his best friend and then 10 minutes later he was barking orders.”
Kennedy faced arrest Tuesday night after Burbank police responded to a call around 11:30 p.m. about an argument between a man and woman.
He was subsequently freed on $20,000 bail.

While the woman's identity remains unknown, Kennedy attended the party with his girlfriend of two years, Ally Lewber.
Lewber was spotted the next evening at Windsor's Pre-New Year's Eve celebration in Los Angeles.
She was captured giving interviews, delivering a speech to attendees, and walking the red carpet alone in footage from the event. Kennedy wasn't seen at the gathering.
