Hugh Jackman says Deadpool and Wolverine hate each other.

The 54-year-old actor will join Ryan Reynolds in the upcoming โ€˜Deadpool 3โ€™, reprising his role as Wolverine from the โ€˜X-Menโ€™ and โ€˜Wolverineโ€™ movies and Hugh says the two characters will have an abrasive relationship.

Speaking on โ€˜The Empire Film Podcastโ€™, he said: โ€œ10 being really close, zero being the reality, weโ€™re zero, weโ€™re opposites, hate each other. Iโ€™m just talking from my perspective, [Logan is] frustrated by him, wants to be a million miles away from him or wants to punch him in the head. Unfortunately, he canโ€™t be a million miles away from him in this movie, so Iโ€™m probably going to punch him in the head a lot.โ€

Although Wolverine died in the 2017 โ€˜Loganโ€™ movie, Hugh insisted that his return in โ€˜Deadpool 3โ€™ wonโ€™t affect the events of โ€˜Loganโ€™.

He explained previously: โ€œItโ€™s all because of this device they have in the Marvel world of moving around timelines. Now we can go back because, you know, itโ€™s science. So, I donโ€™t have to screw with the โ€˜Loganโ€™ timeline, which was important to me. And I think probably to the fans too.โ€

Meanwhile, director Shawn Levy has promised that there will be โ€œhardcoreโ€ violence in โ€˜Deadpool 3โ€™.

Shawn previously said: โ€œWe are writing, rewriting, developing, prepping โ€˜Deadpoolโ€™ every day now.

โ€œIt is such a blast to laugh every day. It is so delicious to hear and write and come up with these scenes where people are just talking foul. And the violence is in your face and hardcore, and itโ€™s very much a โ€˜Deadpoolโ€™ movie.โ€

Levy confirmed that the film is likely to start shooting in May 2023 and explained that having Jackmanโ€™s Wolverine involved has added to his enjoyment of the flick.

The director, who has worked with Ryan on โ€˜Free Guyโ€™ and โ€˜The Adam Projectโ€™, said: โ€œIโ€™m having so much fun, and I havenโ€™t even hit the shooting floor yet.

โ€œI have to say, developing a โ€˜Deadpoolโ€™ movie is one of the most fun creative experiences of my life because itโ€™s not just that itโ€™s rated R. Itโ€™s that itโ€™s so filled with self-awareness, and that makes in-writing very, very fun in a way that is unique to the franchise.โ€
