In a delightfully unexpected crossover of politics and pop culture, former President Joe Biden was seen casually walking around Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia Monday (June 16, 2025) morning after grabbing breakfast at Parc.

The timing coincided perfectly with the filming of the hit action series, Reacher, taking place at the same restaurant.

โ€œIt was just something very bizarre that I never could have imagined, both things were happening at the same time,โ€ said photographer Hugh E. Dillon.

Dillon captured the scene on camera. He mentioned he was observing the TV crew film a police chase when black SUVs suddenly appeared.

โ€œOut walked these men, that I thought they were actors, but then the entire cast and crew started clapping and cheering,โ€ he said. โ€œThen someone said, โ€˜We love you, Joe, we love you!'โ€

According to Dillon, Bidenโ€™s appearance at Parc clearly surprised everyone there, from the production team to local residents, that Monday morning.

โ€œI thought it was the end of the scene โ€” that they were wrapping for the day. And no, it was, you know, Joe Biden decided he needed some breakfast at Parc Rittenhouse,โ€ Dillon said.

Whether the former president and his team were aware of the ongoing filming remains unclear.

Alan Ritchson, who stars as Jack Reacher, was spotted rushing down the sidewalk along Locust Street by the restaurant, while police vehicles with flashing lights zoomed past.

Dillon reported that Biden spent an hour inside before emerging to wave at onlookers, shake hands with cast and crew members, and take selfies with dog-walking locals.
