The potential addition of Jonathan Bailey from Bridgerton to the cast of Heartstopper has fans ecstatic.
Fans enthusiastically shared images of the 35-year-old actor posing with a trans rights sign. Additionally, there are other pictures of him holding a book on Plato written by Jack Maddox. It is reported that these images were initially posted on an Instagram account with the username “jack__maddox,” which is now set to private.
The buzz surrounding the news is due to the presence of a particular character named Henry Maddox in a mini-comic called Heartstopper, created by Lauren James. This character catches Charlie’s eye and becomes the subject of their affection. Based on the illustrations, Bailey seems to have the perfect look for a scholar, leading us to believe that the rumors may hold some truth. However, there has been no confirmation from an official source regarding the potential casting at this time.
Despite this, it did not hinder fans from expressing their enthusiasm for the potential outcome. One fan exclaimed, “Whoever cast Jonathan Bailey in Heartstopper deserves a raise and a fruit basket and has my eternal gratitude cause GIRL.”
One person commented, “STOP RN I’M BEING SO SERIOUS,” while someone else expressed, “no bc jonathan bailey has loved heartstopper and always been so supportive of the cast and now he’s part of it.”
Another person mentioned the possibility of a reunion between Bailey and Olivia Colman, who portrays Nick Nelson’s mother in the Netflix show, as seen in Broadchurch.
According to rumors, Hayley Atwell, known for her role as Captain America, may also be joining the cast of season three of Heartstopper. The show’s creator, Alice Oseman, previously announced on a website that Darragh Hand had been chosen to play the role of Michael Holden.
Production for the third season of the popular series was completed in December 2023 after starting in October. Fans can expect the third season of Heartstopper to be released in 2024.
Both seasons one and two of Heartstopper are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
