A recent viral video captures Justin Timberlake performing his hit track “Mirrors” while secured in a harness during his Nashville concert last week at the Bridgestone Arena. What started as a groovy performance took an unexpected turn when the harness created an unfortunate visual effect, drawing attention to the singer’s lower body region in a rather revealing way.
The footage shows Timberlake attempting to readjust his shirt to maintain his modesty. Social media users didn’t hold back their criticism, particularly questioning the necessity of the harness in his performance. “He doesn’t have a single song that requires this,” one TikTok user remarked on the shared clip. “Why does he have a harness anyway?” another questioned. Some focused on the production oversight. “The way my jaw dropped. Honey NO ONE TOLD HIM during rehearsals? Oof,” one viewer noted. “His whole team just sabotaging him,” another commented.
The incident sparked a debate about body shaming, with several fans rushing to defend the “Sexy Back” performer. “Yall are pathetic. The man wears multiple pairs of underwear and the harness was clearly pulling on his right pant leg more than it was supposed to. It’s extra fabric. Get a life!!!” one supporter argued. Another perspective emerged: “So apparently its ok to shame a mans body parts in 2024. Women really dont learn anything it seems.”
This wardrobe incident isn’t Timberlake’s first brush with clothing controversy. He was previously involved in the infamous 2004 Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show incident where he accidentally exposed Janet Jackson‘s breast during their performance. TikTok users were quick to point out the irony, with one commenting, “Justice for Janet.”
Currently, Timberlake is touring with The Forget Tomorrow World Tour, with his next stop scheduled at St. Louis’s Enterprise Center on Thursday.
