has heard about the affair. She is not clutching her pearls.

‘ upcoming memoir, One Helluva Ride, confirms the two had a secret romance while filming 1984’s Romancing the Stone. Turner’s verdict, delivered to People? “Good heavens what a fuss about something 40 years ago!”

Then came the kicker: “I love Michael and I look forward to enjoying the book.”

That’s the classiest non-denial Hollywood has seen in years.

Douglas, meanwhile, is done playing coy. “Kathleen and I fell hard for each other and began a relationship,” he writes.

The spark hit before cameras even rolled, back when they met about her playing the romance novelist lead. “I instantly liked her, and we were immediately attracted to each other,” Douglas wrote.

The Mexico shoot came with a side of sneaking around. Douglas says he’d slip into Turner’s hotel room late at night, and neither director Robert Zemeckis nor costar ever caught on.

Fans always suspected. Douglas admits, “audiences have been certain for years that we were in a relationship.”

The official line was that it was all chemistry, nothing more. His blunt update: “That was a lie.”

The timing was messy. Douglas was separated from his then-wife, Diandra, during filming. But Diandra visited the set, got Turner alone, and made it clear they were still married.

Douglas’ theory on how she knew? “A woman’s intuition, I suppose.”

The romance didn’t survive the visit. “After that visit, Kathleen and I ended things, and I went back to Diandra.”

What followed was decades of excellent acting off screen. The pair kept denying it through the press tours for Jewel of the Nile and War of the Roses, and later reunited on The Kominsky Method.

Turner, now 72, clearly has bigger things to worry about. The book hits shelves Oct. 6.
