Kim Kardashian is continuing her fight for prison reform and criminal justice! It seems as if the reality star has found a new mission in life.
The 37-year-old reality TV star revealed in a sneak peek for her upcoming interview with Jason Flomโs Wrongful Conviction podcast, to air Wednesday, that sheโs working on getting another nonviolent drug offender pardoned.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star is hoping to help 30-year-old Chris Young after he was sentenced to life in prison for marijuana and cocaine possession after being arrested in 2010; Kim believes it was an โunfairโ harsh sentence.
Speaking on Jason Flomโs Wrongful Conviction podcast, Kim said: โYesterday, I had a call with a gentleman thatโs in prison for a drug case โ got life. Itโs so unfair. Heโs 30 years old. Heโs been in for almost 10 years.โ
Kim set the ball rolling straight away and has since spoken to the Tennessee Judge Kevin Sharp โ who resigned because the law forced him to give such a long sentence โ and the pair of them are working with her team of lawyers to help release Chris.
โI was on the phone with the judge that sentenced him to life, who resigned because he had never been on the side of having to do something so unfair, and now he is fighting [alongside] us to get [Young] out,โ she added.
We wish Kim well in her quest. Girl, prepare yourself for the long haul.
