Kristen Stewart is set to star in TriStar’s lesbian rom-com Happiest Season and Mackenzie Davis, the breakout star of AMC’s Halt And Catch Fire
, is in talks to join Stewart.
Stewart will play a young woman who is planning to propose to her girlfriend in front of her girlfriend’s family.
The catch? Her girlfriend (Davis) hasn’t come out yet to her conservative parents.
Happiest Season marks the second film from director Clea DuVall following her 2016 debut The Intervention
, though it will be her first studio movie.
She also co-wrote the script with actress Mary Holland, who I’m told will be playing Davis’ sister — the nicest, weirdest and most accepting member of her family, who treat her like a bit of a black sheep compared to her sisters.
