Madonna spent several days in the ICU after developing a “serious bacterial infection” on Saturday (Jun. 24, 2023), her manager announced.

“Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care,” Guy Oseary wrote Wednesday. “A full recovery is expected.”

Details on the type of infection and how long her recovery is expected to take were not immediately available.

According to Page Six, Madonna was found unresponsive and rushed to a New York City hospital.

Oseary said the Grammy Award-winning pop icon will have to halt her upcoming The Celebration Tour, which was scheduled to begin July 15 with a performance in Vancouver, Canada.

The forthcoming tour is composed of 84 shows in cities in North America and Europe including Chicago, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, London, Barcelona and Paris.

Bob the Drag Queen is set as the opening act for Madonna throughout the tour that would take the stars around the world.

Madonna would conclude the tour with four concerts in Mexico City’s Palacio de los Deportes with the last show scheduled for January 30, 2024.
