Tom Hanks‘ niece, Carly Reeves, had a meltdown after she was kicked off the reality series Claim to Fame during the first episode of the season.

The ABC show, hosted by Kevin and Frankie Jonas, follows a selection of people connected to celebrities and sees them trying to guess who the other contestants' relatives are.

The second season kicked off on Monday (June 26), with viewers left shocked when the 66-year-old Forrest Gump star's niece, Carly Reeves, 39, was the first to be eliminated.

Carly broke down in tears, dissing her fellow contestants and insisting she was due more “camera time” thanks to her links with the Hollywood icon, who also famously appeared in Philadelphia.

Her meltdown came as the hosts asked a contestant named Hugo if he had any idea which star Carly was related to, and when he successfully guessed that it was Tom, she began sobbing before searing into a screaming fit and storming off stage.

On the subject of being emotional, Carly started to yell while hurling insults at the show and her fellow contestants, saying: “The freaking clues were so freaking obvious,” adding: “‘I didn't even get to do any challenges.

“I don't deserve this. I should have more camera time. I should be here longer. No-one expected that, no-one.”

Carly's clue on the show was a park bench – a reference to a scene from Forrest Gump. Budding actress Carly later reflected on her emotional response to Entertainment Weekly: “I was really upset. I think I overreacted a little bit, but I'm an emotional, very dramatic person.

“I was really angry that I didn't get a chance to play as long as some of other contestants. I mean, there was no one to be angry at. I was just angry in general at myself, and at the fact that I was going home. And then that turned to complete despair and sadness.”

Carly has starred in a few movies and shows, including Raise Your Voice, Charlie Wilson's War, Larry Crowne, Broke at Love, The Bachelor Parody, and Totally Studios.
