After only one season on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Monica Garcia has announced her departure from the Bravo reality show. Garcia's decision to leave the series came after she faced backlash from her co-stars for operating an Instagram fan account that was known for trolling her fellow housewives.

Executive producer Andy Cohen addressed the situation on his SiriusXM show, Andy Cohen Live, revealing that Garcia will take a break from the show due to a “cooling-off period.” Cohen emphasized the importance of the reunion as a chance for cast members to explain their behavior to both the audience and their fellow housewives. However, in Garcia's case, her explanations left the other women feeling unconvinced.

During the reunion, Cohen asked the cast where they stood with Garcia, and they all expressed their distrust towards her. Despite Garcia's potential for “compelling television,” the producers decided to let the situation “breathe for a while,” hoping that she could build relationships with her co-stars off-camera.

As RHOSLC prepares for its fifth season, the cast is expected to include Lisa Barlow, Heather Gay, Meredith Marks, Whitney Rose, Angie Katsanevas, and Mary M. Cosby as a friend of the housewives. Garcia joined the show in Season 4, working briefly for former housewife Jen Shah, who is currently serving time in prison for her involvement in a telemarketing scheme.

Although Garcia initially claimed that her involvement in the Instagram account was to expose Shah's mistreatment of her employees, she eventually admitted to being one of several people running the Reality Von Tease account. Despite her departure from the show, fans will undoubtedly be keeping an eye on Garcia's future endeavors.
