While Ryan Gosling went viral for a reaction to his win at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards, Ariana DeBose went viral for her reaction to a very, very bad joke at her expense.

Gosling delivered an amazing reaction after his Barbie track won Best Song at the Critics Choice Awards. The star appeared completely taken aback when “I’m Just Ken,” co-written by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt, was announced as the winner.

It beat out two popular Barbie songs in the category, “Dance the Night” by Dua Lipa and “What Was I Made For” by Billie Eilish, along with three other nominees: “Peaches” from The Super Mario Bros. Movie, “Road to Freedom” from Rustin and “This Wish” from Wish.

Accepting the award onstage, Ronson told Gosling, who remained in the audience: “This is as much your award as ours. You made the audience fall in love with this song with your matchless performance,” he said.

Ariana DeBose wasn’t a fan of a swipe at the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday after presenters cited her among “actors who think they’re singers.”

The Oscar winner (for West Side Story) and Broadway star (Hamilton and Pippin watched from the audience as presenters Bella Ramsey and Anthony Ramos name-dropped her as they presented the category for Best Song at the ceremony.

“Then there are the actors who also think that they’re singers – Jack Black, Ariana DeBose and Ken himself, Ryan Gosling,” said Ramsey after Ramos named nominees Billie Eilish, Lenny Kravitz and Dua Lipa among “famous voices in the music industry.”

Cameras panned to DeBose during the segment, and she didn’t look pleased.

She later took to Instagram to weigh in on the jab. “No I didn’t find it funny. Lol,” wrote DeBose, who was nominated in the category for the song “This Wish” from Disney’s Wish.
