Sean Combs is once again behind a different kind of door.
The disgraced music mogul has been placed in solitary confinement following a physical altercation with a fellow inmate at FCI Fort Dix, the low-security federal prison in New Jersey where he is serving his sentence, multiple outlets report.
According to TMZ, the brawl broke out this week after another inmate allegedly “dissed” Combs, setting off a chain of shoving that escalated into punches before correctional staff stepped in to separate the two men. Combs reportedly “held his own” during the scuffle.
Entertainment insider Loren LoRosa said on X that her sources described the incident in blunter terms, claiming she’d heard Combs was “in the hole in Fort Dix” after the confrontation.
A Federal Bureau of Prisons representative kept details close to the vest when reached for comment, telling TMZ, “we are not at liberty to disclose or provide internal information pertaining to any inmate in our custody.”
It remains unclear exactly how long Combs will remain in solitary confinement, though some reports have floated a stint of up to 30 days depending on how officials classify the incident. If prison officials determine Combs was the instigator of the prison fight, he could face additional consequences that extend his time behind bars.
Combs, 56, has been serving a 50-month sentence since his conviction last year on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, part of the sprawling fallout from federal sex trafficking charges brought against the Bad Boy Records founder. He is currently projected for release from Fort Dix in February 2028, assuming he continues earning credit toward early release.
This isn’t the first reported bump in Combs’ incarceration. Sources have previously claimed he ran afoul of prison rules over homemade alcohol, adding to a pattern of friction since he arrived behind bars.
For now, the mogul once known for controlling every room he entered is confined to a cell alone, with no timeline yet on when — or if — he’ll rejoin the general population.
