American Idol always seems to have a few gimmicky contestants each season, and Mario Adrion took things to a whole other level. Adrion, aka Speedo Guy, bravely inspired other models to be more than just beautiful.

The 26-year-old’s package (pun intended) was about him wanting to be judged on his talent and not on his looks. So of course he auditioned in a Speedo. Actually, his whole song was about auditioning in a Speedo and being known more for his body.

It was certainly entertaining, but it was by no means talent. Well, he had some ability when it came to flexing his pectoral muscles, but vocally — yikes.

The judges, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan were left shocked and embarrassed as soon as the aspiring contender came in front of them.

Katy, to be specific, even hid her face with her hands for a few seconds before finally doing a fun ramp walk with the model.

Adrion has an impressive following on Instagram with 230,000 followers. His Instagram bio reads, “us YouTuber and future American Idol” along with a cute emoticon.
