Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially married.
After months of speculation and predictions, the pop superstar and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end celebrated their wedding with hundreds of guests Friday (July 3, 2026) at Madison Square Garden in New York City. A representative for Swift confirmed the news to multiple outlets, making it official: one of the most anticipated weddings in pop culture history had finally arrived.
The reveal came via a press release obtained by Variety in the minutes following Swift and Kelce’s official marriage announcement. Almost simultaneously, billboards outside of Madison Square Garden lit up in purple with the message “JUST&T MARRIED,” announcing the news to those on the streets of Midtown Manhattan and the entire globe. A few blocks over, the Empire State Building was lit up in blue in their honor, a nod to the age-old wedding rhyme.
To officiate their wedding, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce pulled in comedian and actor Adam Sandler, a longtime friend who has previously gushed over the pair’s relationship. Sandler said during a 2024 appearance on Kelce’s podcast New Heights that his Swift-loving family was in full support of the courtship. “When you guys first started dating, my God was my family like, ‘Yes! Look how good they are together! He’s a gentleman and she’s having so much fun!'” Sandler said at the time.
The ceremony did not disappoint those fortunate enough to witness it. Good Morning America anchor George Stephanopoulos, who attended the wedding, told ABC News: “The ceremony was great, moving. Adam Sandler, funny and touching. Vows, everything you would hope for — real, vulnerable, serious and silly, deeply loving. Who knew that a wedding in Madison Square Garden could be so intimate?”
Taylor and Travis did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, her brother, Austin Swift, served as Taylor’s Man of Honor, and Jason Kelce was Travis’ Best Man.
Swift and Kelce both wore ceremony looks designed by Jonathan Anderson for Christian Dior Haute Couture. Swift and Kelce worked “in close collaboration” with the designer on these looks. They both wore custom Christian Louboutin shoes, and Swift completed her look with Cartier jewelry. The official press release noted it was the designer’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity.
The venue itself was transformed to match the occasion’s magnitude. People magazine editor-in-chief Charlotte Triggs described the interior as a “fairytale garden,” and explained why MSG made sense for this particular bride. “I think for most people, this seems like the weirdest choice in the world, but for her, this is spot-on. It has total security. Also keep in mind, she’s very familiar with it. She performed there multiple times,” Triggs said.
Rather than resembling the sports and concert venue many people would recognize, MSG was completely transformed, with crews wheeling in greenery, flowers, knobby tree branches, and lush foliage in the days leading up to the event. A strict no-phone policy ensured the interior remained a mystery for much of the night.
Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw were reportedly expected to perform at the wedding, according to Page Six, with sources telling the New York Times that Swift and Nicks had conducted a sound check inside the Garden earlier in the day.
Boldface names spotted entering the Garden included Jessica Chastain, the Chicks, Karlie Kloss, Camila Cabello, Hugh Grant, Ed Sheeran, Jason Sudeikis, Ethan Hawke, Benson Boone, Dakota Johnson, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Lena Dunham, and the Haim sisters. The robust guest list also included several of Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammates and sports figures like NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
Days of media speculation led up to Friday’s ceremony, but the morning of the event, the Associated Press confirmed July 3 as the day Swift and Kelce would tie the knot at Madison Square Garden. Digital wedding invitations reportedly came complete with watermarks and NDAs.
Swift and Kelce first started dating in July 2023 after he was wowed by her Eras Tour performance in Kansas City. The couple announced their engagement on Instagram in August, sharing photos from the proposal and captioning the post: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
The extravagant affair came three years after Kelce attended one of Swift’s Eras Tour shows in Kansas City and, after not getting to meet her, called her out on his podcast. “I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” he said, explaining he had a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it to give her.
What started with a missed meet-cute and a bracelet ended with a thousand guests, a transformed Madison Square Garden, and a “JUST&T MARRIED” sign glowing in the New York City night.
