An inquest held on Monday, June 30, 2025, provided further details regarding the death of James Lee Williams, known professionally as The Vivienne, the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. The 32-year-old drag artist was found deceased at their residence in Cheshire on January 5, 2025.

During the formal proceedings at Cheshire Coroner’s Court, it was disclosed that The Vivienne was found in a bathtub containing water, and had been there for an estimated “couple of days” prior to discovery. Neighbor Janine Godbold, who found The Vivienne, reported to the court that the individual “looked like they were sleeping.”
