Hello, hello, hello and welcome to another wrap-up of everything going on in the increasingly expanding Drag Race universe!
In the latest edition of The Week in Drag, we take a look at the roast challenge and scene-stealing fashions on Drag Race UK, the monochromatic pop princesses of Canada’s Drag Race and, as always, catch up with some of your favorite queens.
Along with the “Ru-caps”, we’ve got a holiday tune from Ginger Minj, a musical love letter to the 00s from Alaska, more toy fun with Trixie Mattel, and lots more. Let’s not waste another minute and let’s bring it to the runway!
This week on Drag Race UK, our final four became the final three after a hilarious roast and stunning goddess-inspired fashions. Our favorite “Binge Queens”, Pandora Boxx, Rock M Sakura, Heidi N Closet, Kylie Sonique Love, Laganja Estranja and the angelic Scott Nevins discuss the highs and lows of the penultimate episode on the latest “Binge Queens”. Check out this sneak peek and get full episodes on WOW Presents Plus.
Last week, our queens from across the pond went to a galaxy far, far away in a (pretty decent) Star Wars parody and brought their finest scene-stealing fashions to the runway. Laila McQueen and Monét X Change recap the laughs and looks on the latest “Sibling Watchery.”
Denali and the far-from-mediocre Cheryl Hole toot and boot the runway looks on “Fashion Photo Ruview.” (IMHO, I thought they were all perfect, from Vanity Milan’s BAPS tribute to Ella Vaday’s sexy Oompa Loompa.)
Alexis Mateo and Nicky Doll are also here with toots and boots of the Monochromatica: Future Pop Princess looks that ruled the runway on last week’s episode on the Canada’s Drag Race “Fashion Photo Ruview.”
Self-described “fashion clown” – and utterly fabulous queen Thorgy Thor takes us on a tour of her Greenpoint, Brooklyn home, shows off her fashion style and just plain makes us smile (a LOT) on the latest episode of “Out of the Closet.”
Bob the Drag Queen and Monét X Change talk theme parks, their love for the movie Precious, quiz each other on geography and more on “Sibling Rivalry.”
Willam takes us across the pond and behind the scenes at the UK theater that serves as the current home for the hilarious murder mystery play Death Drop (now featuring Ra’Jah O’Hara and Drag Race Down Under’s Karen from Finance.)
Episode two of the eighth season of Willam’s “Beatdown” dropped this week, and the theme this time around is drag queen mishaps. She takes on a queen’s wayward boob, a tabletop performance gone horribly wrong, a truly hair-raising slingshot ride and Kylie playing “Who’s that GURRRL?” (Here’s that whole video. It’s great.)
Willam and Alaska bring their “Hot Goss” to YouTube from Palm Springs with special guest Bianca Del Rio.
Sharon Needles and BenDeLaCreme join the Race Chaser party as Willam and Alaska host a cocktail challenge. Oh, how I would have loved to be a judge for this one.
On Friday, Alaska released her new single “XOXOY2K.” She describes the inspiration for the track as, “The fashions and accessories of the early 2000s are burned into my psyche because I came of age in the time of low-rise jeans and flip phones. This is a love song about attraction and repulsion– all decorated in the mise en scene of the year 2000.” The new tune is from her forthcoming Red 4 Filth album which is slated for release in early 2022.
The topic is “Sleep” on this week’s episode of “UNHhhh” and Trixie and Katya will definitely keep you up laughing as they talk about slumber.
I always felt an affinity toward Trixie, and videos like this are why. Watch as she rates, reviews and plays with slime. As someone who joins her nieces in playing with the stuff any chance I get, this really spoke to me.
Gottmik and Violet Chachki take on the subject of pet peeves on the latest episode of “No Gorge.”
In celebration of her freedom, Jaymes Mansfield gives a Britney Spears doll a full drag makeover (and it’s definitely an improvement.)
The adorable and talented Rock M Sakura makes over a living doll, K-pop singer AleXa.
Kimora Blac is back with another honest cosmetic review, trying out Ariana Grande’s new R.E.M. collection.
And that’s it for this week. Since Christmas is rapidly approaching, we’ll leave you with a new holiday tune from Ginger Minj and Gidget Galore. Enjoy their take on the classic “Sisters” from White Christmas and, until we meet again, stay healthy, stay safe and say LOVE!
