The Week in Drag – Gottmik and Violet Chachki get haunted, Alaska has a breakdown, Trixie takes us to the 90s and more

Gottmik and Violet Chachki

Hello, hello, hello! We are back with another glam-packed week of news from the queens you love in The Week in Drag!

We’re in the middle of two stellar seasons of Drag Race and the UK and Canadian queens are bringing the looks as well as the charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent. Some of your favorite alums are sharing their take on our international queens and rating the runway fashions.

We’ve also got some pre-Halloween fun as Violet Chachki and Gottmik experience a chaotic haunted house, a new makeup collection from Trixie Mattel and a fierce new tune from Alaska. We’ve got lots to cover this week, so let’s bring it to the runway!

This week on Drag Race UK, the queens competed in a challenge to discover who was “Best in Show” and created their own smart device, Draglexa. They also showcased their best expensive-looking fashions on the runway. Our favorite “Binge Queens”, Pandora Boxx, Rock M Sakura, Heidi N Closet, Kylie Sonique Love, Laganja Estranja and the electrifying Scott Nevins discuss episode four’s highs and lows on the latest episode of “Binge Queens”. Check out this sneak peek and get full episodes on WOW Presents Plus.

Last week, the queens delivered “Big Drag Energy” and paid tribute to the Spice Girls on the runway. Monét X Change and Naomi Smalls (filling in for Bob the Drag Queen) discuss the highs and lows of the episode on the latest “Sibling Watchery”

Bimini Bon-Boulash and Raven toot and boot the spicy fashions on the runway on “Fashion Photo Ruview.” Can I just say how much I absolutely love Bimini? Give this queen their own series!

The lovely Laganja Estranja and the delicious Yuhua Hamasaki spice up your life as they review last week’s looks on “Bootleg Opinions.”

Want more Laganja? Here, she takes us behind the scenes to show you how she created her amazing video for “Poison Ivy.”

Last week saw the premiere of season two of Canada’s Drag Race and the queens from the Great White North strutted down the runway in looks crafted from nightclub leftovers. Alexis Mateo and Nicky Doll discuss the episode’s Premiere Party Extravaganza fashions.

If you caught this week’s episode of Drag Race UK on WOW Presents Plus, you may have seen a teaser for the latest reality competition pitting aspiring makeup artists against each other, hosted by an Emmy Award-winning (and beloved) makeup artist. Painted with Raven debuts on WOW Presents Plus on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25. The 8-part reality series gives makeup artists the chance to win big without ever having to leave the comfort of their own home. Check out the teaser and subscribe so you don’t miss a moment.

Halloween is just around the corner and Gottmik and Violet Chachki are here to get you into the spooky spirit. Watch as the pair, clad in Yandy costumes, visit the Knott’s Scary Farm Halloween maze. This definitely gets my vote for video of the week.

The first two episodes of the moving series We’re Here are now available on HBO Max. Eureka, Bob the Drag Queen and Shangela discuss their looks in the Spartanburg, South Carolina and Temecula, California episodes in this video from AV Club. (I don’t think Bob has ever looked better than in her “real housewives” look.)

Bob and Monét talk teamwork on the latest episode of their “Sibling Rivalry” podcast.

Monét and Lady Bunny welcome YouTuber, artist and author Connor Franta and discuss hot topics including the state of fentanyl in the drug epidemic on the latest “Ebony and Irony.”

If you have a surplus of money lying around (or just love makeup like I do), you won’t be able to get rid of it fast enough when you see Trixie Mattel’s latest collection. Watch as she takes us through the new 90s-inspired Just A Girl Collection with blush, 2 glosses (one is called Ginger Spice…just take my money!) and accessories including a bucket hat, a backpack and a powder puff. So cute.

As much as I love “UNHhhh”, I always look forward to the compilation video of random bits from previous episodes. Trixie and Katya delivered with these clips from the first half of season six.

Yuhua and Laganja take us back in time as they watch and react to Yuhua’s Drag Race audition tape.

As part of October being #LGBTQHerstoryMonth, Yvie Oddly recognizes legendary activist and ‘Queen of Drag’ William Dorsey Swann, and reflects back on her journey to winning the Season 11 crown.

In another video, the stunning Jaida Essence Hall pays tribute to groundbreaking actress Josephine Baker and talks about her season 12 victory.

Bob the Drag Queen attempts to follow a Kahmora Hall makeup tutorial and she is not happy with the results. I mean, really not happy. I thought she looked great, but what do I know?

Season seven’s delightful Mrs. Kasha Davis (who we had the pleasure of interviewing back in 2015) is the latest queen to sit down with Joseph Shepherd for his fabulous series “Exposed.”

Rock M Sakura takes on a makeup challenge. Find out what happens when she attempts to beat her mug under a red light while wearing whiteout contacts. The results are certainly interesting.

Jaymes Mansfield is back with more wig wizardry. Watch as she creates a perfect “party ponytail”.

We recently told you about the collaboration between some of your favorite queens and SERV Vodka. On the heels of a massive national launch and unprecedented demand from retailers, bars and consumers alike, SERV Vodka is proud to announce a series of virtual and in-person events that will continue to introduce the brand to everyone.

Kicking off the series on Monday, October 25 at 8:00 PM ET, SERV is partnering with social selling online network TalkShopLive for the brand’s first-ever virtual cocktail party or “SERV Happy Hour.” Hosted by Alaska 5000 and Monét X Change, the two iconic queens will be sipping SERV cocktails while spilling tea on how they came to be vodka entrepreneurs. Alaska will also be reading excerpts from her forthcoming memoir, “My Name’s Yours, What’s Alaska?”, to be published by Chronicle books on November 9. Viewers can pre-order an autographed copy of the book during the livestream. The event is free to watch HERE, and viewers may order without ever leaving the livestream.

SERV will also launch their first-ever “SERV Kiki” event at LA’s hottest LGBTQ+ party, Sugartank, where queens will mingle and perform on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Precinct bar in Downtown Los Angeles. Sugartank, produced by The House of Avalon and Mateo Segade, attracts LA’s biggest glamour divas and punk hotties. The range of style and taste fits perfectly with SERV Vodka’s natural flavors.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 12 Fan Favorite Gigi Goode is set to host the event and at least one SERV queen will attend along with other surprise guests. Full info will be revealed Monday, November 1.  Follow @SERVVodka for further details, including additional SERV Kiki’s popping up in select cities across the USA.

Speaking of Alaska, this week saw the release of her latest video, “Beautiful (Night 4 A) Breakdown.” She serves goth goddess and Carrie at the prom glam – as well as a tune you won’t be able to get out of your head (as if you’d want to.)

That’s all for this week. Until we meet again, stay healthy, stay safe, get vaccinated and say LOVE!
