A trendy Mexican spot in NYC hosted a Pedro Pascal doppelganger showdown, with about 30 fans channeling their inner star from The Mandalorian and The Last of Us.
Son Del North Mexican restaurantโs co-owner Annisha Garcia, whose spot sits in Manhattanโs Lower East Side, said Pascalโs 2023 dig about NYC lacking good Mexican food sparked the idea.
โWe were like, โThere is, and we are here,'โ Garcia told the New York Post.
The crown went to Pedro No. 5, aka Brooklyn resident George Gountas.
Gountas, who works as a lighting pro for Comedy Centralโs The Daily Show, entered after his wife Jenny Gania pushed him to join.
โIt started when the Game of Thrones came out the first time โ thatโs when we first heard it,โ Gania said. โThen some kids started noting it, too, so I was like, when we saw this [contest], I was like, โItโs Fatherโs Day. You have to go. Itโs going to be your Fatherโs Day treat.โ Itโs funny, because heโs not on social media at all. But now heโs going to be everywhere.โ
Gountas scored $50 and free burritos for a year from Son Del North.
