Peacock just handed Alan Cumming the most chaotic guest list of his hosting career, and honestly, we’re obsessed.
The streamer revealed its Traitors Season 5 cast this week (watch the reveal video below), and it reads like a casting director cold-called anyone with a recognizable face. Kristin Chenoweth. Bianca Del Rio. Chloe Kim. Whitney Leavitt. Dominic Monaghan. Twenty-three people, one Scottish castle, zero chance any of them make it out with their dignity intact.
For anyone new here: contestants split into Faithful and secret Traitors, who “murder” players off one by one while everyone else tries to sniff out the liars at nightly roundtables. Whoever survives splits, or steals, a six-figure pot.
Cumming, fresh off his third consecutive Emmy for hosting this fever dream, broke the news in a YouTube roundtable, hyping up “what a company we’ve assembled.”
That’s underselling it. A Tony winner is about to share a roundtable with a RuPaul’s Drag Race champion, an Olympic gold medalist, and Southern Charm‘s Craig Conover, who was all but begging for this gig weeks before the announcement dropped. He told PauseRewind he was ready for anything with a camera pointed at him: “I’d do either if they asked me, I think that’d be fun.” He also floated Dancing With the Stars as a backup plan, joking about getting “in shape” for it. Manifestation apparently works.
The rest of the roster reads as Bravo’s group chat merged with a Wikipedia rabbit hole. Real Housewives vets Cynthia Bailey, Gizelle Bryant and Bronwyn Newport. Survivor champs Michele Fitzgerald and Q Burdette. Big Brother winners Taylor Hale and Jag Bains. Love Island‘s JaNa Craig, plus the franchise’s narrator, Iain Stirling. Bachelor alum Joey Graziadei. Singer Cody Simpson. Actor Johnny Sibilly. Content creator Boman Martinez-Reid. Next Gen NYC‘s Emira D’Spain. The Challenge‘s Rachel Robinson. Former NFL star Rashad Jennings rounds out the chaos.
The timing isn’t an accident. This cast drop landed barely a day after The Traitors: New Blood, the civilian spinoff, premiered on NBC, and Cumming was already sounding rattled by the shift in energy. “The energy is very different. I was shocked,” he admitted about hosting non-famous players for once. If regular people already have him spooked, a castle stuffed with reality TV veterans and a Broadway legend should be a full-on nervous breakdown by episode three.
The money’s real, too. Season 4 wrapped in February with Love Island USA‘s Rob Rausch walking away with more than $220,000 after playing an unbothered Faithful the entire time. Peacock has already locked in three more seasons on the strength of a seven-for-seven Emmy sweep, so nobody’s pumping the brakes on this franchise anytime soon.
No premiere date yet, just a vague “2027” promise from Peacock. Which means months of speculation, Reddit deep dives, and Craig Conover probably teasing his castle era on every red carpet between now and then. Book your flights to paranoia, people. The Highlands are calling.
