The BBC doesn’t mess around. Fresh off one of the biggest reality TV seasons in recent British television history, UK Celebrity Traitors is returning with a second run — and this time, the cast list reads like a who’s who of British (and beyond) talent.

The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey, Good Omens actor Michael Sheen, and Oscar-nominated Richard E. Grant will be among the names entering the wink murder-style game. Yeah, it’s that kind of lineup.

The BBC reality series has assembled another impressive cast as filming gets underway at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands over the summer. Same iconic castle. New faces. Same delicious chaos.

The Celebrity Traitors cast also boasts Industry star Myha’la, Barbie actress Sharon Rooney, Love Island host Maya Jama, Broadchurch‘s Julie Hesmondhalgh, and Jerry Hall, the model and actress who was married to Mick Jagger.

The full cast also includes Amol Rajan, James Acaster, James Blunt, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, King Kenny, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Miranda Hart, Professor Hannah Fry, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp, and Sebastian Croft.

That’s a lot of personalities crammed into one Scottish castle — and exactly the kind of combustible mix that made Season 1 must-watch TV.

Speaking about the cast, host Claudia Winkleman wasn’t shy about the challenge ahead. “We’re incredibly lucky these brilliant people have said yes,” she said. “I’d love to say we’ll take it easy on them, and they’ll just wander round the castle and eat toast for a couple of weeks — but that would be a lie.”

The numbers behind Season 1 tell the full story of why everyone is so hyped for the follow-up. Season 1 of The Celebrity Traitors debuted on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in October 2025 and was watched by an average audience of 14.9M, with a peak of 15.4M for the finale. Comedian Alan Carr emerged as the unlikely champion, outlasting the likes of Stephen Fry and Celia Imrie.

The BBC clearly saw what it had on its hands early. In March 2026, the BBC announced a three-year deal that will keep The Celebrity Traitors and The Traitors in production until 2030. That’s not a show — that’s a franchise.

The BBC’s head of entertainment had flagged just how big the series had become even before Season 1 aired. Kalpna Patel-Knight said: “The Traitors has well and truly established itself as an unmissable highlight of the year and the news of a fourth outing, alongside a brand new celebrity version coming to the BBC, will take the series to a whole new level.”

The show was immediately renewed for a second season on the back of its huge initial success, and the buzz around the new UK Celebrity Traitors cast has been building for months.

Among the more intriguing additions: Romesh Ranganathan will be joining his fellow comedian and presenter, Rob Beckett, at the castle. Two comedians. One castle. Zero mercy.

A doctor of mathematics and lecturer at the University of Cambridge, Professor Hannah Fry, will be bringing the brains to this season of The Celebrity Traitors. Whether smarts actually help in this game is another question entirely — Season 1 proved that intellect can be just as dangerous as a liability.

Season 2 will debut later this year. The Celebrity Traitors will be produced by Studio Lambert Scotland for BBC One and iPlayer and has been commissioned by Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment Commissioning for the BBC.

Safe to say the autumn TV schedule just got a whole lot more interesting.
