Hello, hello, hello! Welcome back to The Week in Drag, our weekly wrap-up of all things RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Our Canadian and UK queens are in the race for the crown and have been bringing fierce fashions to the runway. Some of your favorite Ru-cappers are here to rate and review the looks and catch you up on the competition.
In addition, we’ve got news of a holiday treat from Mama Ru, a casting call for a new season and we get reintroduced to one of season two’s OG and iconic queens from Atlanta, Georgia. We also check in with Jaymes, Trixie, Willam and lots more of our busy content queens. Let’s not waste another moment and let’s bring It to the runway!
Do you think you’ve got what it takes to compete on Drag Race? Casting for season 15 is officially underway. If you have the charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent, send your audition tapes in!
Christmas has come early for Drag Race fans! Forget Hallmark movies, Mama Ru and 20 fabulous slay belles are here to make the season bright n a brand-new movie. The Bitch Who Stole Christmas is headed to VH1 on Thursday, December 2. The flick stars Krysta Rodriguez, who killed it as Liza Minelli in Halston, as a “workaholic fashion journalist who travels to a Christmas-obsessed town on an assignment from her editor to dig up a juicy story. While there, she finds herself entwined in a Winter Ball competition populated by cutthroat housewives and mischievous folks seeking to destroy the holiday forever.”
Ru plays the editor and judges Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, and Ross Matthews also make appearances. Best of all, you’ll see some of your Drag Race favorites as Drag Race superstars Ginger Minj, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Peppermint, Jan, Latrice Royale, Jaymes Mansfield, Gottmik, Morgan McMichaels, Porkchop, Chad Michaels, Heidi N Closet, Kelly Mantle, Kimora Blac, Laganja Estranja, Manila Luzon, Mayhem Miller, Pandora Boxx, Raven, Rock M. Sakura, and Kylie Sonique Love join in on the fun. I can’t wait for this one…this is what I get for being on the “nice” list this year, right?
This week, the queens of Drag Race UK let their fugly flags fly, creating three quick drag looks on the runway. Our favorite “Binge Queens”, Pandora Boxx, Rock M Sakura, Heidi N Closet, Kylie Sonique Love, Laganja Estranja and the far-from-fugly Scott Nevins discuss the drama and questionable fashions on the latest episode of “Binge Queens”. Check out this sneak peek and get full episodes on WOW Presents Plus. If you’re not watching this, you’re honestly missing out. Whoever put these pairs together deserves an award.
On last week’s Drag Race UK, the queens brought out their best (in some cases) celebrity impersonations for the always eagerly awaited “Snatch Game” episode. Bob the Drag Queen and Monét X Change discuss Drag Race UK rumors and take us through the best and worst moments of the Snatch Game and runway looks on “Sibling Watchery.”
Raven and Bimini Bon-Boulash toot and boot the UK’s fruity fashions on last week’s mainstage on “Fashion Photo Ruview.”
The heart of UK season one, the delightful Sum Ting Wong and Yuhua Hamasaki put in their two cents on the fruit-inspired fashions on “Bootleg Opinions.”
Last week on DRUK, the bottom two queens failed to impress Ru with their lip sync and we had a shocking double sashay. One of the eliminated queens, River Medway, talked about the surprising episode and her time on the show with Tia Kofi on “Tea Time.”
Also sent him east week was the delightful Spanish doll Choriza May. She also had a lot to say about her elimination on “Tea Time.”
Choriza and River also talked to Yshee Black about the season and the elimination that left many a jaw dropped and doled out the superlatives to their UK sisters on “Drag Race Yearbook.”
Across the border on Canada’s Drag Race, the queens hit the runway in their best “good girl gone bad” looks. Nicky Doll and Alexis Mateo toot and boot the looks from the Great White North on “Fashion Photo Ruview.”
Our latest All Star, the stunning Kylie Sonique Love chats with Johnny Sibilly on “Logo Live”. She talks about her All Stars victory (and addresses her infamous trip on the runway), her growth since appearing on Drag Race season two, her transition and lots more. She is just an amazing queen and I am so glad we got to see her emerge as the all star she is.
One of our favorite drag dynamic duos, Gottmik and Violet Chachki, take us behind the scenes of their Halloween tour on the latest “No Gorge.”
I tried to watch the Twilight movies when they came out, but I just couldn’t do it. Thankfully, Kayta and Jujubee are here to help you wind down from your Halloween festivities as they watch and react to the Twilight saga on “I Like to Watch” (with bonus appearance by Elvira!)
Want more? Fena Barbital joins Katya to watch Breaking Dawn parts 1 & 2. I still have no urge to watch any of these movies, but I could watch the queens talk about them forever.
I know Halloween is over, but I couldn’t resist posting this gem. Laganja Estranja helps her BFF Jonathan get into the Halloween spirit by dressing him in her entrance outfit and an updated makeup look. Jonathan is cute both in and out of drag. Well played, Laganja.
Monique Heart takes us into Kim Petras’ closet where she shares some of her favorite pieces (that bag…) and talks about her unique fashion inspiration.
Trixie Mattel is playing with toys again…and we love it. Here she unboxes more Barbie Color Reveal dolls. I know what my nieces are getting this Christmas.
The trade of it all…Honey Davenport and Dakota discuss (literally) hot topics and look oh-so-handsome doing it – on the latest episode of “Trade.”
Let’s jump in the wayback machine and catch up with season two queen (and the pride of Atlanta) Nicole Paige Brooks. This fierce diva (who really should get a spot on an All Stars season…right?) is the latest queen to be “exposed” by Joseph Shepherd.
On Willam’s latest “Paint Me Bitch”, he is transformed into a look that can best be described as “Tinkerbell by way of Amanda Lepore.” However you describe it, it’s pretty amazing.
Jaymes Mansfield finds and makes over the “best” wig at Spirit Halloween. It’s a tough job, but you know Jaymes can do it…and she does.
Rock M Sakura shows off her spooky side as she gets ready and kikis with Hoso Terra Toma from Dragula season 4.
And that’s all for this week. We’ll leave you this week with the latest single from Mama Ru. Enjoy “Just What They Want” and, until we meet again, stay safe, stay healthy, get vaccinated and say LOVE!
