We never knew that Zac Efron had such a soft spot for Michelle Pfeiffer. At Monday night’s premiere of New Year’s Eve in Hollywood, Efron told Access Hollywood that he received the call that set the wheels in motion.

“Michelle Pfeiffer left a voicemail on my phone and said, ‘I want to do it, if you want to do it,'” Efron told Billy Bush. “My heart exploded, and I was like, ‘I’m in! I’m doing it!’ I love her. She made my year.”

When asked about his NYE co-star, Lea Michele and her Fox hit, Efron expressed interest in guest-starring (get in line). “I’m a huge fan of Glee and a huge fan of her work,” Efron said. “It looks so fun. I would love to [appear on the show.] Have they had a serial killer yet?” Zac asked. “It’d be fun to sing about.” Wouldn’t it?
