The Baldwins have added yet another member to their family. On Monday, March 1, Hilaria Baldwin posted a photo of their newborn to Instagram, writing the number “7” and giving photo credits to husband Alec Baldwin.
The next day Hilaria posted the sweetest photo of her newborn daughter and shared her name. “We are so in love with our daughter, Lucia,” she wrote. “Just like your brothers and sisters, you are a dream come true.”
Hilaria's post did not allow comments. However, Baldwin caught backlash from his followers when sharing the same photo on his own Instagram account. Several critics took jabs at his caption that is written in Spanish that reads: “Mi vida…”
One social media user commented with a petition to know “who the mother” is, as Hilaria welcomed the couple's fifth child last September, leaving the user confused as she “wasn't pregnant” with baby No. 6.
“She gave birth six months ago. If it was a surrogate just say that. If the baby was adopted just say that. If the baby was a product of an affair and you've decided to raise it with your wife just say that,” the commenter critiqued the couple. “If you don't want to say anything – why don't you both stop constantly posting and begging for clickbait. Just raise your 100 children in private.”
Baldwin clapped back with a profanity-laced response, writing, “you should shut the f–k up and mind your own business.”
Also in the comments section was a supporter of the couple, who wondered “why are people so mean” and added, “As far as the Spanish who cares.”
Baldwin further defended his family in a reply that saw him casting blame at Americans' wayward behavior.
“Because, basically, they're not very smart. Americans are people who know less about how to live a peaceful, healthy life than most of the civilized world,” Baldwin wrote.
This is baby number six for the couple, but Alec also shares daughter Ireland Baldwin with ex-wife Kim Basinger. The couple also welcomed a newborn son, Edu, in September 2020.
She told People in November 2020 that her kids are always asking when the next sibling is coming. “My kids are used to new siblings coming in, so they're already like, ‘When is the next one going to come?'” she said. “And I'm like, ‘Guys, you and the entire world need to stop asking me that!'”
