Antebellum

From the producers of Get Out and Us comes a new horror film starring Janelle Monáe called Antebellum.

The film is set to focus on a successful author named Veronica Henley (Monáe) traveling between present-day and the horrifying and titular pre-American Civil War period. She then must uncover the time-traveling mystery before it’s too late.

Although not much is known about this mystery project, it was written and produced by Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz, who are both responsible for highlighting social issues in their work, an example of which can be found in the duo’s JAY-Z’s politically charged “Kill JAY-Z” music video.

Antebellum

The film is also set to star Marque Richardson II, Jack Huston, Kiersey Clemons, Tongayi Chirisa, and more.

The synopsis:

Successful author Veronica Henley (Janelle Monáe) finds herself trapped in a horrifying reality and must uncover the mind-bending mystery before it’s too late. ANTEBELLUM is a terrifying new thriller from the producer of the acclaimed films GET OUT and US, and groundbreaking directors Gerard Bush and Christoper Renz (Bush+Renz) – an exciting new voice in filmmaking.
