Ariana Grande has come under fire from the family of one of Jeffrey Dahmerโ€™s victims after she revealed the notorious serial killer was her โ€œdream dinner guest.โ€

During a recent appearance on the Podcrushed podcast, the 31-year-old singer shared a surprising anecdote. Grande recounted a Q&A session with kids where she admitted her fascination with Dahmer, who gruesomely murdered 17 men between 1978 and 1991.

This revelation left the family of Tony Hughes, one of Dahmerโ€™s victims, in shock. Hughesโ€™ mother, Shirley, expressed her dismay to TMZ, stating, โ€œTo me, it seems like sheโ€™s sick in her mind. Itโ€™s not fancy or funny to say you would have wanted to do dinner with him.โ€ She further criticized Grande for making such comments to young people.

Tony Hughes, who was deaf and non-verbal, encountered Dahmer at a Milwaukee gay bar. According to the AP, Dahmer took Hughes home, drugged him, and later dismembered his body, keeping his skull as a grisly memento.

Shirley hopes that Grande realizes the insensitivity of her comments and finds it disturbing that the pop star laughed about it. Barbara, Hughesโ€™ sister, added that Grandeโ€™s remarks seemed to glamorize the infamous killer, who was killed in prison in 1994. Both family members are calling for the two-time Grammy winner to issue an apology.

The controversial comments were made during the podcastโ€™s June 17 episode with hosts Penn Badgley, Sophie Ansari, and Nava Kavelin.

Grande explained her teenage obsession with serial killers, sharing that she once told kids, โ€œIf you could have dinner with anyone living or dead, who would it be?โ€ Her answer was Jeffrey Dahmer, which she described as โ€œfascinating.โ€

Grande confessed that even now, she would have loved to meet Dahmer, albeit with the presence of a third party. โ€œI think I would have loved to have met him,โ€ she said. โ€œYou know, maybe with a third party or someone involved. But I have questions.โ€
