Fans of the pop star may be aware that her speaking voice has been the subject of online discussion for years. Critics have questioned whether Grande alters her vocal tone intentionally.
In response to the viral video, Grande provided an explanation for the sudden vocal shift. “Habit (speaking like this for two years) and also vocal health,” Grande replied. “I intentionally change my vocal placement (high/low) often depending on how much singing I’m doing. I’ve always done this BYE.”
