According to reports from Deadline, it seems that Brad Pitt is gearing up for yet another collaboration with famed director Quentin Tarantino, who is currently in the process of making his final movie. The film in question is called The Movie Critic, which features a movie critic from the 1970s who writes reviews for a porn magazine.
Although it remains to be seen whether Pitt will play the titular role, this will mark the third time the actor has worked with Tarantino, having previously appeared in Inglourious Basterds and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Tarantino has been busy rewriting the script since May 2023, when he first spoke about the film and denied rumors that it was about the famous New Yorker critic Pauline Kael.
Instead, the movie is based on a real-life writer known for his acerbic wit and ability to write like someone twice his age. As Tarantino put it, “He was as cynical as hell. His reviews were a cross between early Howard Stern and what Travis Bickle might be if he were a film critic.” Interestingly, Pitt is now 60 years old, while the writer in question was only in his early to mid-30s.
Even though Tarantino has been tight-lipped about the project, fans of the director are eagerly anticipating his final film, which will round out his illustrious career. The Movie Critic will join other classics like Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, and Kill Bill in Tarantino’s impressive filmography. Whatever the case may be, it seems that audiences can look forward to another exciting collaboration between Tarantino and Pitt.
